Women’s Black Herringbone Tweed Three-Piece Suit – Made to Measure

£399.00

Style options

Classic single-breasted, or a more statement double-breasted front.

Notch is the classic lapel that works for everything. Peak is sharper, bolder and less common – ideal if you want more of a statement look.

Single-breasted is clean and versatile. Double-breasted gives more of a vintage, tailored feel and makes the waistcoat a real feature.

Most people choose no lapel for a versatile waistcoat. Adding a lapel makes it bolder and more jacket-like when you take the main jacket off.

Satin is cooler under a jacket. Full tweed looks best if you’ll be wearing the waistcoat on its own.

Upper body measurements

Measure around the fullest part of your chest/bust, with the tape level and snug but not digging in.

Measure around your natural waist – where your body naturally creases when you bend to the side.

Measure around the fullest part of your bum/hips, with the tape level all the way round.

Measure from the top of your shoulder (where a shoulder seam would sit) down to where you’d like the jacket cuff to end.

Lower body measurements

Measure around where you want the trouser waistband to sit – usually just above the hip bones.

Measure from the very top of the inside leg (right up in the crotch) down to where you’d like the trouser hem to sit on your shoe.

Height

Choose the band that’s closest to your height – we use this with your other measurements to balance the jacket and trouser proportions.

Anything else we should know? (optional)

If there’s anything unusual we should allow for – one shoulder higher, one arm longer, bigger thighs, previous tailoring you liked, etc. – pop it in here.

Description

Black herringbone tweed, cut to your shape, not the size chart.

Our women’s black herringbone tweed three-piece suit is fully made to measure. Instead of forcing an “almost right” size to work, you choose your style options, add your measurements, and we cut the jacket, waistcoat and trousers to your body – bust, waist, bum, thighs, sleeve, inside leg, the lot.

The fabric is a deep black herringbone tweed – textured, refined and a little bit dramatic. It’s ideal if you want something sharper than a plain black suit, but still properly classic for weddings, race days, office days and evenings out.

The fabric

  • Rich black tweed with a subtle herringbone weave

  • Looks solid from a distance, with texture and depth up close

  • Works with white, cream, black or soft colour shirts, camis and roll-necks, plus boots, brogues or heels

Women’s tailoring – cut for your body

This isn’t a men’s suit resized. Your black herringbone suit is drafted around you:

  • Jacket shaped through the waist and bust for a clean women’s silhouette

  • Neater, modern jacket length so it sits well over trousers without looking boxy

  • Trousers cut to your bum, hips and thighs, not just a waist size

  • Waistcoat shaped to sit smoothly over the bust without gaping or pulling

The jacket, waistcoat and trousers are designed to work together as one intentional outfit.

Style options – built into this made-to-measure suit

Because it’s made to measure, you control the look:

  • Jacket front – classic single-breasted or a bolder double-breasted front

  • Jacket lapels – timeless notch lapel, or a sharper peak lapel if you want extra edge

  • Waistcoat front – single-breasted or double-breasted (great if you prefer more coverage)

  • Waistcoat lapels – clean V-front with no lapel, or a lapel for more of a “mini jacket” feel

  • Waistcoat back – black satin (lighter and cooler under a jacket) or full tweed (best if you’ll wear it on its own)

All chosen with simple dropdowns on the product page – no back-and-forth emails.

Fit & measurements – how it works

Instead of choosing a size number, you give us the measurements that actually matter. On the product page you’ll see clear dropdowns for:

  • Chest / bust

  • Waist (tummy area)

  • Bum / hips

  • Trouser waist (where you like your trousers to sit)

  • Jacket sleeve length

  • Inside leg

  • Height band

Each option has straightforward guidance so you know where to measure and which band to choose – no tailoring experience needed.

There’s also an additional notes box – handy if:

  • One shoulder sits higher

  • One arm is longer

  • You have curvier hips / stronger thighs

  • You already own a blazer or trousers whose fit you like and want us to echo

We use all of that, plus your style choices, to cut a black herringbone suit that is:

  • Properly tailored but not skin-tight

  • Comfortable enough to sit, walk, work and dance in

  • Proportioned to your height so jacket length, waistcoat line and trouser break all look deliberate

Made to Order vs Made to Measure

You might also offer a made-to-order women’s black herringbone suit in standard sizes. That’s ideal for people who:

  • Are happy picking from a UK size chart

  • Just want separate jacket/waistcoat and trouser sizes

This listing is the Made to Measure option:

  • Built around your measurements, not generic sizing

  • Extra style control (double-breasted options, peak lapels, waistcoat lapels, waistcoat back fabric)

  • Best for tricky fits and “big event” suits you’ll want to wear for years
