Terms of service

These terms explain how ordering from Yorkshire Tweed works. Read them alongside the product details, returns and cancellation policy, delivery policy and privacy policy. Nothing here limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. About Yorkshire Tweed

Yorkshire Tweed is a trading brand of The Great British Tweed Company Ltd (company number 14902377). In these terms, “we” means Yorkshire Tweed and its legal operator. Contact us at hello@yorkshiretweedsuits.co.uk or through our contact page.

Customer correspondence: Yorkshire Tweed, British Tailoring, PO Box 574, Sheepscar, Leeds, LS6 9FA, United Kingdom. This is not a shop or returns address. Contact us for the correct private address before sending any garments.

2. Choosing your suit

Our standard Yorkshire styling is a single-breasted jacket with notch lapels and a single-breasted waistcoat without lapels. Three-piece suits include the jacket, waistcoat and trousers, or a skirt instead of trousers where offered. A skirt is not an additional fourth piece. The available choices on each product page form the basis of your order.

Made to Order uses your selected standard sizes and the available length and fit options. Made to Measure uses your individual measurements. Both are made for your order. Please do not assume that styling options offered by another brand or website are included here.

3. Measurements and special requests

Check each selection before paying. Top and bottom sizes can be chosen separately. Where we ask for body measurements, provide actual measurements in the selected unit without adding your own allowance. We add appropriate tailoring ease; labelled body sizes and finished-garment measurements are not the same.

Follow our men’s guide or women’s guide. Tell us before production about relevant proportions, asymmetry, mobility requirements or fit concerns. Order notes are helpful, but requests outside the advertised options are not agreed until we confirm them in writing. We will discuss any additional cost or timing before accepting a change.

4. Orders, payment and availability

Prices and available payment methods are shown before checkout is completed. Delivery charges and any taxes collected by us are displayed at checkout. Payment must be completed before production. If fabric becomes unavailable or we identify a material pricing or specification error, we will contact you rather than substitute another cloth or charge an unagreed amount. If we cannot supply your order on terms you accept, we will refund the affected payment.

Please keep your order confirmation and check that it matches your selections. Contact us promptly if anything is wrong. We may contact you to clarify measurements or incomplete information before production can proceed.

5. Production and delivery

Allow around four weeks before dispatch, followed by the delivery time for your destination, unless we agree a different estimate in writing. Production cannot proceed until payment and all required choices, measurements and clarifications have been received. Estimates are not a promise of arrival for a particular event.

If you need the suit for a wedding or other fixed date, contact us before ordering and allow extra time for delivery and any fitting arrangements. We recommend ordering at least eight weeks ahead where possible. Faster shipping does not shorten production. Tell us promptly if an order is delayed or arrives damaged; nothing here removes your legal delivery rights.

Use a complete delivery address and tell us about errors promptly. We are responsible for the goods until delivered to you or your nominated recipient as required by law. For international orders, duties, import taxes or local handling fees not collected at checkout may be payable by you. Check the checkout information and local requirements before ordering.

6. Fabric, photographs and care

Photography, lighting and screen settings can change how cloth appears. Ask about a fabric sample before ordering if colour or texture is important. Images illustrate the fabric and garment; only the items and choices described in the listing are included. Where a women’s listing offers a skirt but shows trousers, the skirt replaces the trousers in your order.

Follow the garment care instructions supplied. If you think there is a fault or production error, contact us before authorising alterations so we can assess it. We do not provide an alteration service.

7. Changes, cancellations and returns

We offer a voluntary 48-hour full-refund cancellation window for MTO and MTM orders, subject to the early-start condition explained in our returns policy. Statutory cancellation rights, where applicable, are separate. Custom-made or clearly personalised goods are treated differently from ordinary non-personalised goods; being made after ordering alone does not remove legal rights.

Customer sizing choices do not automatically create an entitlement to a free remake. Faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or misdescribed goods remain covered by your statutory rights. Contact us with your order number and the issue so we can discuss the appropriate remedy. A remake will not be imposed where the law entitles you to a refund.

8. Website use and personal information

Use the website lawfully. Do not misuse customer accounts, submit malicious material or reproduce our content without permission or another lawful basis. We use the information needed to process and support your order as explained in our privacy policy. Marketing choices are separate from placing an order.

9. Questions, complaints and applicable law

Email us with your order number and what you would like us to investigate. We will consider the evidence and your legal rights fairly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or court rights available where they live. We do not exclude liability where doing so would be unlawful. Updates to these terms do not retrospectively reduce rights under an existing order.
