Refund policy
Good tailoring starts with clear choices. Please check your fabric, sizes, fit and measurements before ordering. If anything is uncertain, ask us for help or a fabric sample first.
Your 48-hour cancellation window
We offer a voluntary full-refund cancellation window of 48 hours from placing a Made to Order or Made to Measure order. Email hello@yorkshiretweedsuits.co.uk with your order number to cancel. This voluntary window may end earlier only if, at your explicit written request, we have already started cutting, production or another irreversible custom process. Any statutory cancellation rights that apply remain unaffected.
Made for your order
Made to Order uses the standard sizes and available options you select. Made to Measure uses your individual body measurements. Both are produced for your order rather than taken from a ready-to-wear stock rail.
Where a garment is made to your specifications or clearly personalised, the ordinary online change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply. After our voluntary cancellation window, such custom orders cannot ordinarily be cancelled or returned simply because you change your mind, select an unsuitable size, submit inaccurate measurements, prefer another fabric or fit, or your event plans change. A garment is not automatically exempt from statutory cancellation rights merely because it is produced after ordering; where those rights apply, we honour them as described below.
Screen colour and lighting vary. Ask about fabric samples if the exact shade, texture or weight matters to you. Samples do not limit your rights if the garment is misdescribed or incorrectly supplied.
Understanding size and fit
Provide actual body measurements where requested, without adding an allowance. We add appropriate tailoring ease for movement and comfort, so a finished garment is not expected to measure the same as the body size on its label. Check each top and bottom size separately and tell us about relevant fit requirements before production.
If a customer-selected size or supplied measurement causes a problem, this does not automatically entitle the customer to a free remake or refund for a genuinely customised garment. We may offer advice, a discounted remake or a suitable replacement piece if available, but discretionary help is not guaranteed. Group orders do not carry an automatic free-remake entitlement.
We do not provide an alteration service. A competent local tailor may be able to help at your own cost; please contact us before altering anything if you believe we have made an error. Agreed remakes are newly produced and normally require 4–6 weeks of production followed by delivery. They are not a guaranteed priority or rapid service.
If something is faulty, damaged or incorrect
Your statutory rights are fully protected. Contact us promptly with your order number, a description and photographs. For a sizing concern, we may ask for repeated body measurements and clear photographs of the garment worn and laid flat, with a readable tape measure across the relevant points. Our request to report issues ideally within 14 days is not a deadline that removes your legal rights.
If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, not as described or otherwise fail legal standards, the remedy depends on the circumstances and your rights. It may include repair, replacement, remake, price reduction or refund. We will not insist on a remake where you are entitled to reject goods for a refund. We cover reasonable agreed return costs where we are responsible.
Returns: contact us for the correct address
Do not send garments or parcels to our PO Box. It is a correspondence address only and cannot receive returns. Contact us first so we can assess the issue and provide the appropriate return address and instructions privately in writing.
For an agreed custom-garment return, keep pieces clean, unworn apart from trying on and unaltered. Please use the hanger and garment bag where supplied, pack securely in a suitable box and retain proof of posting. Missing original packaging does not by itself remove statutory rights. Please do not delay notifying us of a statutory cancellation while awaiting return instructions.
Where ordinary online cancellation rights apply
For eligible non-personalised goods, tell us within 14 days beginning the day after delivery that you wish to cancel, then return them within the following 14 days. You may inspect and try them on as you would in a shop. You pay non-fault return postage. We may make a lawful deduction for handling beyond what is needed to inspect the goods.
We refund the item price and standard outbound delivery where required; any premium delivery upgrade is not necessarily refundable. We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or evidence of posting, whichever is earlier, and will refund within the applicable legal period. Approved refunds go to the original payment method; your payment provider may need additional processing time.
To cancel, email: “I wish to cancel my order”, followed by your order number, the goods, order and delivery dates, your name, address and the date of your notice.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. If an additional voluntary arrangement is agreed, it sits alongside your legal rights, not instead of them.
